OUR MISSION

Classes are offered to ensure that all members understand the basic plan of salvation and introduce fundamental truths about the Christian faith. New members are informed of all aspects of the church and this ministry serves as a link to connect members with all ministries and activities available. We attempt to make the transition for new believers as well as experienced believers as easy as possible. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!. Psalm 133:1

The New Members Committee President greets New Members immediately after they join the church and gives them information that includes a written greeting from the Pastor, a list of church auxiliaries and leaders, a copy of the church covenant, and contact information including telephone numbers, the church website and email addresses.

Members that join and need to be baptized are also given preliminary instructions during this time.

An assigned Minister serves as Instructor for Galilee’s New Members Orientation Class.

New Members are encouraged to attend this two week class upon joining the church.

THE PURPOSE OF THE CLASS IS TO:

  • Adjust to a new church fellowship
  • Review and/or introduce fundamental truths about the Christian faith

  • TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:

  • The ordinances of the Baptist Church
  • God’s eternal plan of salvation
  • Active participation in church fellowship
  • Introductory Christian doctrine
  • The class is held every 2nd and 4th Sunday, and although intended for new members, it is open to all who wish to attend. Members who complete orientation by attending both sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by Pastor Davis.
